General Information for Individual Vessel Users:

  1. SCST volunteers must pay in advance through a deposit account. To start, the deposit is $20 for smaller vessels and $100 for larger vessels.
  2. The fees listed are for any portion of a calendar day. However persons wishing to use the boats in the evening for a barbecue (anchored in the harbor not at the dock) may do so without fee if the boats are not otherwise needed or reserved.
  3. It is to be understood that the vessels are primarily for the use of the youth programs. In the event of a scheduling conflict, the youth programs will have the first priority.
  4. Vessels may be reserved for the day preceding a trip for the purpose of loading. It is hoped that all persons will cooperate with each other in this regard to facilitate maximum use of the vessels.
  5. If you are unable to use a vessel as planned, the organization should be notified as soon as possible.
  6. All Skippers must be checked out by the examiners and according to the rules established by the South Coast Sailing Team.
  7. The county does not allow any alcohol at the facility except by permit in the multipurpose room.
  8. The vessels are insured for liability only. SCST is self insured for hull damage. Vessel users are responsible for repairs up to a maximum of $1000. Our insurance company will void coverage if every person involved does not sign a waiver, does not have an approved PFD, is not warned against the operating of a vessel while under the influence of alcoholic beverages, or if anyone who appears intoxicated or under the influence of alcohol, a controlled and/or illegal substance is allowed on board the vessel.
