Ancient Mariner Regatta

AMR: Since 1952, the historical and action packed Ancient Mariner Regatta has challenged thousands of Sea Scouts to do their best as they compete in the event’s twenty-five exciting venues including seamanship, whaleboat races, sailing, piloting, knot tying and much more.

For the pogeys, AMR is covered as part of their original registration fee for the season. For returning Mariners it is paid as a separate cost from their dues when they register for the season.

AMR is held at Cal Maritime (https://csum.edu/) and we will be going up by bus leaving from Dana Point at around 5 AM Friday morning. The exact time will be put out in the announcements.

If parents would like to attend they would be expected to participate in two judging assignments. It’s ok if they don’t know the events, they can run stop watches, take notes, etc. They should sign up on Givsum ASAP – https://www.givsum.com/opportunities/adult-sign-up-for-2018-amr.
